Exterior decoration is often overlooked in the house: individuals investing the garden only during the summer season, they do not always see the point of developing their exteriors in a sustainable manner. However, this additional space is a real bargain! It allows you to relax, have lunch, read or rest while enjoying the heat of summer ... The design of outdoor spaces is Slowgarden's specialty: founded by Claire Delahaye, the Marseille design office projects allowing to make the most of outdoor spaces, while playing with their constraints. The vegetation and the decoration share the limelight, as this superb realization in vitamin colors shows us.

Bring pep and color

Before : When the landscapers of Slowgarden discover for the first time this small garden in a district between beaches and city, they note that it suffered from several years of abandonment. The walls and the tiles on the floor have a dirty and aging appearance: the owners have concentrated their efforts on the entire planted area, leaving the terrace in poor condition. The latter however has many advantages that deserve to be highlighted! Its surface is small but very functional, and leaves room for many possibilities for metamorphosis. The owners wish to personalize their outdoor space and restore its cachet: after several meetings at Slowgarden, they opt for a renovation including the extension of the terrace, the upgrading of the premises and the change of outdoor furniture.

After : After several weeks of work, the changes made are spectacular! Claire Delahaye and her team have completely modernized this small garden by giving it the personality it lacked. In agreement with the owners, the landscapers opted for a beautiful purple hue on the walls: this astonishing and explosive color blurs the usual codes of the garden and creates an “inside-out” effect. The owners can now enjoy their terrace as a real living-dining room: with its summer lounge area and its beautiful industrial-inspired table, this "extra room" has what it takes! In terms of materials, wood is in the spotlight. Blades of exotic wood have replaced the old, worn tiles and now extend the dining area by several square meters. We find these same blades above the old masonry fountain, cleverly diverted into an outdoor sofa.

Details review

Before : The decoration was neglected by the owners, who had neither the time nor the ideas to create a comfortable outdoor space. Their small terrace has great potential, however, with many elements that landscape designers will be able to divert from Slowgarden. In the interests of economy, it is planned to reuse existing buildings and furniture as much as possible. However, some parts of the terrace, such as the worn shade or the stone borders, will be removed. They serve the future decoration, which will focus on the color and the "cabinet of curiosities" style revisited.

After : Many changes have been made to restore style and personality to this small urban garden. Claire Delahaye kept the old neck of the wall fountain, with its original form of cherub, and used it as a starting point to create a wall with a bohemian spirit. Like an artistically composed painting, this purple wall contains many decorative elements dear to owners: horseshoe, baskets, mirrors and small wall decoration intertwine to form an amazing cabinet of curiosities! The founder of Slowgarden also thought of the comfort of the owners by installing an outdoor shower with a Zen spirit: composed of a shower tray and a wooden column, surrounded by black Japanese pebbles, it will allow the couple and their guests to cool off on a hot Marseille afternoon!
